The House of Lords isn’t a charming relic. It’s a democracy-adjacent black hole where fossilized privilege meets parliamentary power. And yet we’re told it’s “part of our rich heritage,” like gout or Victorian child labor.
Meanwhile, the monarchy remains a royal unicorn farm — symbolic, expensive, and breeding distraction faster than you can say “platinum jubilee trifle.” It’s a soap opera with real estate portfolios and state funding.
