One man dead, two pedestrians seriously injured, and a city still pretending e-bikes are harmless little zippy toys. This latest incident—a fatal crash involving an e-bike rider plowing into pedestrians—proves once again that slapping a battery onto a bike doesn’t make it smarter, safer, or socially acceptable. It makes it faster, heavier, and apparently lethal.

⚙️ Electric Menace or Just Another Day in Chaosville?

E-bikes were supposed to be the eco-friendly solution to urban congestion—zippy, green, and so very progressive. But what we got instead are silent torpedoes weaving through crowds like they’re dodging laser beams in Mission Impossible.

Now we’ve got a man who died on impact, two pedestrians laid out in hospital beds, and a street scene that looked more like a deleted scene from Fast & the Feral.

And let’s not forget the e-bike lobby’s favorite line: “It’s just a bike.”

Oh sure, just a bike… that can hit 30 mph, weighs 60kg, and apparently launches people like bowling pins if you sneeze on the accelerator.

It’s time we had the talk about licensing, training, and maybe—just maybe—not letting a battery-powered battering ram loose on sidewalks like it’s a Mario Kart power-up. 🚴💥

But sure, keep pretending this is just “personal transport” and not a future Darwin Award waiting to happen.
