🍃🗳️🍷Zack Polanski—Green Party deputy leader, lifelong teetotaler, and moral high-ground mountaineer—wants to decriminalise drugs and alcohol use for everyone… even though he’s never had so much as a cheeky shandy. Admirable? Sure. Altruistic? Possibly. Politically convenient? Oh, absolutely.

🧼 From Sober Saint to Dealer of Votes?

Polanski is out here saying no to drugs personally, but yes to your right to use them without getting tossed into a police van. Especially if you’re Black or Brown and have been disproportionately targeted by drug laws for decades. He’s positioning himself as the hero who doesn’t partake but still wants everyone else to have the option. But let’s not pretend this is all spiritual selflessness.

Because here’s the kicker: those same people he’s championing are also potential voters.

And what better way to secure your spot on the moral and electoral high ground than saying, “I’ll never touch drugs, but I’ll fight for your right to roll up in peace”? It’s progressive politics with a side of “pander lite.” The message is: “Vote for me—I’ll legalise your lifestyle, even if I find it personally distasteful.”

Imagine a monk running a nightclub and shouting, “I won’t dance, but I’ll keep the lights on for you sinners!”

Polanski might not be sniffing, sipping, or smoking, but he can smell an opportunity from a mile off. If legalising drugs means tapping into disenfranchised, overpoliced, and disillusioned voters—then why not ride that wave straight to Parliament, incense-free?

🚬 Challenges 🗳️

Is this principled policy or vote-chasing dressed in hemp robes? Can someone who’s never had a pint really understand the policies they’re pushing—or does that make them even more trustworthy? Tell us if you’re buying Zack’s brand or think he’s selling green-flavoured snake oil. 🐍🌿
