By a man!

We rarely ask men what they need.
We tell them.
Be stronger.
Make more.
Do better.
Don’t stop. Don’t feel. Don’t fall apart.
But if you did ask a man, and he felt safe enough to answer honestly, here’s what he might say:
He wants to live in a world where he’s not held responsible for everyone else’s needs.
Not because he doesn’t care — he cares deeply —
but because he’s tired of carrying expectations no one talks about.
He doesn’t want a mansion.
He’s not obsessed with whether the lawn is perfectly cut.
He doesn’t need more upgrades, more stuff, more “success.”
What he wants is something far simpler.
He wants love.
He wants companionship.
He wants a friend — not someone who constantly demands more and more,
but someone who joins him, as he is.
He doesn’t need to be “fixed.”
He needs to be understood.
He needs space to breathe, not pressure to perform.
Men are not machines.
They’re not stoic superheroes.
They’re not unfeeling or uncomplicated.
They’re simple in the most human way:
They want to feel seen, respected, and wanted —
not for what they provide,
but for who they are when no one’s watching.
That’s it.
That’s the quiet, aching truth.
