So, in Glasgow, a serial Tinder scammer tricks multiple women out of cash, time, and dignity — and what do the police do? Nothing. Nada. Swipe left. Meanwhile, Lucy Connolly fires off a dumb online post, deletes it shortly after, and ends up behind bars. One woman didn’t scam anyone, yet she’s punished, while a smooth-talking fraudster walks away with women’s savings and not a single dent in his designer trainers.

🕵️‍♂️ The Police Pick-and-Mix Approach to Crime

Here’s the deal: chasing down online scammers? That takes effort, paperwork, and—heaven forbid—a bit of detective work. But slapping cuffs on someone for a “silly message” that’s already been deleted? That’s easy-peasy policing. Quick arrest, tidy press release, box ticked.

It’s as if the police have turned into a fast-food chain: serving up low-effort “justice meals” while ignoring the hard stuff that actually nourishes public safety. Women were repeatedly scammed, cried out for help, and were basically ghosted — by both their Tinder date and the very institution meant to protect them. Meanwhile, the force seems to have endless energy for minor, easy-to-solve cases that look good on statistics sheets.

If this is the model, what’s next? “Sorry, we can’t chase down that fraudster — but we can fine you for forgetting to sort your recycling.” Somewhere along the way, “protect and serve” became “deflect and swerve.”

🔥 Challenges 🔥

Why do the police go for soft targets instead of real criminals? Is this laziness, fear, or a PR stunt gone wrong? Should we accept a justice system that punishes harmless mistakes but shrugs at actual fraud? 😡
