Once upon a time, in a world where every cause had its own hashtag, there lived a Swedish activist named Greta who had run out of microphones. She had saved the whales, scolded the world’s leaders, and given up plastic straws. But there was one thing she hadn’t yet conquered: silence.

When Greta was detained by Israeli guards, she faced her greatest challenge yet — not the hunger, not the heat, but the unbearable absence of an audience.

“They gave me water,” she said, trembling. “But no Wi-Fi.”

The guards, accused of having “no empathy or humanity,” were, in fact, confused. One reportedly asked, “Why is she shouting at the air?” to which Greta replied, “It’s called raising awareness!” before dramatically collapsing onto the floor for the cameras that weren’t there.

On day two, the horror deepened. No one asked for her opinion. No one even retweeted her complaint about the food portions. In her diary (later published as The Silence of the Campaigner), she described it as “psychological torture” — a period in which she was forced to experience what ordinary people call “a normal day.”

By day three, Greta was convinced she had been starved. “I only had three meals,” she declared. “Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Where were my fourth and fifth snacks?!”

The guards stared blankly. Somewhere, a falafel went uneaten.

Finally released, Greta vowed to turn her trauma into a global campaign: #FreeTheInfluencers. “No activist should ever be deprived of their platform,” she said tearfully at the airport, surrounded by cameras. “The world must know the pain of not being listened to.”

The press, of course, did listen — for about five minutes — before moving on to the next outrage.

And somewhere in the distance, Greta sighed, “At last… I’m trending again.”
