Somewhere beneath Whitehall, alarms are blaring.
A hundred drones are buzzing overhead.
Infrastructure is under attack.
The public wants answers.
And Britain’s finest minds have assembled…
…for what can only be described as a CHIPMUNK meeting—because “COBRA” suggests a level of deadly efficiency that today’s political class hasn’t exactly demonstrated. 🐿️🤦♂️
🚨 The World’s Most Expensive Panic Room
Prime Minister: “Right… we’ve spent hundreds of billions on our nuclear deterrent. What do we do?”
General: “Well… we can’t use the nuclear missiles.”
PM: “Why not?”
General: “Because they’re drones.”
PM: “So… launch one anyway?”
General: “Against a £500 drone?”
PM: “Good point.”
Cabinet Minister: “Can we threaten them?”
General: “They’re already attacking.”
Another Minister: “Can we sanction them?”
Civil Servant: “They’ve already launched the drones.”
PM: “Can we hold an inquiry?”
Everyone: “Now you’re thinking like a politician!”
Meanwhile, outside the bunker, the drones couldn’t care less about committee minutes, strongly worded statements or tomorrow’s press conference.
💷 The Ultimate Government Purchase
Imagine buying the world’s most expensive security system…
…only to discover it doesn’t cover the front door.
That’s the comedy—and the tragedy.
Governments proudly unveil eye-wateringly expensive nuclear submarines as the ultimate protection, yet modern warfare increasingly shows that relatively cheap technology can create enormous disruption without ever crossing the nuclear threshold.
The politicians proudly point at the submarines.
The public points at the drones.
Neither is looking at the same problem.
Perhaps the CHIPMUNK committee’s first agenda item should be asking why we’re spending fortunes preparing for one type of war while scrambling to respond to another.
Because if your answer to a swarm of drones is, “Don’t worry—we’ve got nuclear missiles,” you’ve probably misunderstood the question.
🔥 Challenges 🔥
Would you rather see billions spent on weapons that hopefully can never be used—or on technologies that can actually defend against today’s evolving threats?
If you were sitting in the CHIPMUNK meeting, what would your first question be?
